I guess I'll find out after installing the fix. I have no idea if there's any relationship between this and the USB drive issue. Although I have an Intel CPU, the symptom sounds the same. It has a defect listed as causing some older AMD CPUs to not boot. I noticed that there were two updates applied on the 4th after the system backup. That's when I noticed that the flash drive would be recognized immediately after the reboot, but not sometime later. I did a system restore back to the restore I did the restore, booted, and created a system restore point. Again it failed with "inaccessible boot device". Since the system was running, IĪ week later, I tried a reboot again. I connected it later, but it wasn't recognized (missing device driver).
